Writing Assessment (AOS/AET)

Respond to a real-style AOS/AET scenario and get instant AI feedback scored against LCPS's actual released 5-indicator rubric — Questioning, Evidence, Fluency, Presentation, and Perspective.

📐 Math/Quant

  • Percent change = (new − old) ÷ old × 100
  • Average speed = total distance ÷ total time
  • Probability = favorable outcomes ÷ total outcomes
  • Ratio problems: cross-multiply — a/b = c/d → a·d = b·c
  • Simple interest = principal × rate × time
  • Combinations (order doesn't matter) vs. permutations (order matters) — ask "does swapping two items make a new outcome?"

📏 Spatial/Geometric

  • Rectangle: area = length × width; perimeter = 2(l + w)
  • Triangle: area = ½ × base × height
  • Circle: area = πr²; circumference = 2πr
  • Pythagorean theorem: a² + b² = c² (right triangles only)
  • Rectangular prism volume = length × width × height
  • Cylinder volume = πr² × height

🧩 Logic/Reasoning strategies

  • Eliminate answers you know are wrong before picking one you think is right.
  • For ordering/scheduling puzzles, sketch the sequence out — don't try to hold it in your head.
  • Separate the claim from the reasoning: what's being concluded vs. why.
  • Watch conditional statements ("if X, then Y") — the reverse ("if Y, then X") isn't automatically true.
  • A pattern holding for 2–3 examples isn't proof it holds for all — check whether the question is asking for "must be true" or "could be true."
  • Re-read the question stem after solving — it's easy to answer a question the passage didn't actually ask.

✍️ Writing Assessment tips (AOS/AET)

LCPS's real 5-indicator rubric:

  • Questioning/Processing — ask probing, open-ended questions, not closed yes/no ones.
  • Information Gathering/Analysis — cite specific, relevant sources or methods.
  • Fluency/Originality — generate 3+ distinct, original ideas, not one idea restated.
  • Presentation/Reasoning — organize clearly and genuinely engage a counter-argument.
  • Point of View — describe impact on a wide audience, not just yourself.

Grammar, spelling, and syntax do NOT count against you here — official LCPS rule.

Get AI feedback on your technique. Clips up to a few minutes and 200MB work — shorter clips just analyze faster.

⚠️ AI feedback is a practice supplement, not a substitute for an in-person coach — especially for anything where bad form could cause injury (lifting, gymnastics, sprinting, etc.).
