Equalizer is a study tool built to help students prepare for the TJHSST and Academies of Loudoun admissions process. This page explains, in plain language, what happens when you use it.
When you create an account, we store your name, email address, grade, and — if you provide them — your target program and test date. As you use the app, we also store your study activity: questions answered, streaks, points, badges, and mock test results. This is used only to run the app (showing your progress, personalizing what you study next) and isn't sold or shared with anyone else.
Account and progress data is stored with Supabase, a hosted database provider. Access is restricted so that only you can see your own progress — other students can only see your name and point total on the leaderboard.
The AI Tutor and essay (SPS) grading are powered by Google's Gemini API. Responses and grades are generated automatically and can be wrong or incomplete — they're a study aid, not an authoritative judgment of your work, and definitely not a guarantee of admission to any program. Always double-check important answers with a teacher or trusted source.
The practice questions and writing prompts in Equalizer are generated with the help of AI, based on the style, topics, and sample questions found in publicly available sources about the TJHSST and Academies of Loudoun admissions tests. They are not the actual questions or prompts used on any real exam, and Equalizer has no access to real, current test content. Practicing with Equalizer's questions does not mean you'll see the same material on the real test.
Equalizer is a practice and study tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by TJHSST, the Academies of Loudoun, LCPS, or any other school or admissions program. Using Equalizer — including any AI-graded practice questions, mock tests, or essay/writing feedback — does not guarantee that you will pass an admissions test, be admitted to any program, or achieve any particular score. The Equalizer team is not responsible for, and is not liable for, a student's test outcomes, admissions decisions, or any other result of using this app. Equalizer is meant to supplement, not replace, your own preparation, judgment, and guidance from teachers, parents, or other trusted resources.
Equalizer is meant to be used with a parent or guardian's awareness, especially for students under 13. If you're a parent and want to review or remove your child's data, contact us using the email below.
You can stop using Equalizer at any time. To have your account and all associated data permanently deleted, email kavinloga10@gmail.com from the account's email address and we'll remove it.
